Full lives, empty bins
We provide free support for our community to make good waste practices normal in the Western Suburbs of Perth. This includes rethinking waste, reducing and recycling things more often. We work with our Member Councils and their communities.
Plastic Free July Event - History of Plastics Talk, Thursday, July 19th.
Plastics are commonplace in many households, but are they a necessity or a nuisance? China’s recent recycling restrictions and the WA plastic bag ban starting 1 July, has put plastic under the spotlight – so can we live a life without plastic and where do we start? Find out at this great talk hosted by WMRC's Earth Carers program. Tickets at Eventbrite.
Make sure your recycling is clean and help improve kerbside recycling.
In WA our recycling centres are ready and able to take your recyclables. As councils nationwide adjust to China's recycling restrictions, it is important that we all do our bit and make sure we continue recycling.
So what can you do to help? Keep contaminants out of the recycle bin, if you are unsure about what to put in your bin then check with your local council. Don't bag your recyclables - keep it loose. Clean and rinse your recyclables before putting it loose in your bin.
